W3ACH Special Event Station

The Cumberland Valley Amateur Radio Club will be operating a special event station at Fort Loudoun Historic Site during the Across the Centuries living history event. Our operators will be on the air throughout the weekend making contacts on HF.

This is a great opportunity for the general public to see amateur radio in action. We'll have our station set up on the fort grounds and welcome anyone to stop by, ask questions, and learn about the hobby. Fellow hams — look for us on the air and make a contact!

What is Across the Centuries?

Across the Centuries is one of Pennsylvania's largest living history events, held annually at Fort Loudoun Historic Site in Fort Loudon, PA. Over 300 living historians from more than 32 reenactment groups bring 2,000 years of world history to life on the fort grounds.

Visitors can experience everything from ancient Greek and Roman soldiers to Viking warriors, medieval knights, colonial militia, Civil War regiments, and World War II infantry — all in one place. The event features hands-on demonstrations, battle reenactments, period camps, and military vehicles including tanks.

Fort Loudoun itself was originally constructed in 1756 during the French and Indian War and served as a key British frontier outpost. The site is located just off Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Franklin County.
