The August club meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026, is canceled.
In January 2026, Caleb Jacobs, KC3VPB, submitted the club's website, W3ACH.com, into a contest sponsored by ARRL as part of the "Year of the Club" theme for 2026. ARRL ran a nationwide contest for the best amateur radio club website, Caleb was informed recently that W3ACH.com had been selected as the 1st place winner out of more than 80 entries submitted from clubs across the country.
As a result, the August meeting has been canceled so that a small group representing CVARC, Caleb Jacobs (KC3VPB), Milton Engle (N3LTQ), Dave Gossard (N3DRL), and John Stein (KC7MRY) — can travel to Huntsville, AL, for the award ceremony at Huntsville Hamfest, the 2026 ARRL National Convention, on August 22–23. Plaques and certificates will be presented to the contest winners there. Members who read QST should also watch for the contest results in the October 2026 issue.
Please join us in congratulating and recognizing Caleb Jacobs, KC3VPB, our webmaster, for the outstanding work he's put into designing and maintaining the club's website. This is a significant accomplishment for CVARC.
Also keep an eye on the Franklin County Free Press website, Dwight, K3WVU, will be publishing an article on the award, expected to go live Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Reminder for paid members: The "Members Only" section of the website is where announcements specific to voting members are posted from time to time. There is currently an announcement regarding an upcoming vote on a proposed change to the CVARC bylaws. It has been posted early to give all members time to review it and make an informed decision before the vote.
